Action Required

CONSULT with Emergency Personnel and Emergency Response Team to determine whether evacuation to the pre-determined alternate evacuation site is necessary.

Note: This team will coordinate:

  • Notification of alternate evacuation site.
  • Transportation arrangements.
  • Media communication.
  1. CONSIDER using the LOCKDOWN process to organize the alternate evacuation site.
  2. DELEGATE tasks.
  3. ENSURE that Emergency Response KITS are brought to the alternate evacuation site.
  4. NOTIFY EMERGENCY PERSONNEL OR EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM of unaccounted staff, students and others.

Decision To Return To School Building

  1. Signal return to the building if designated safe by emergency personnel on site or Emergency Response team.
  2. Ensure attendance is rechecked and discrepancies are reported to the office.
  3. Follow up and debrief with staff, students and parent community.
